See- somehow I knew egg dyeing wouldn't be too thrilling this time. For some reason 14 y.o. boy thought this was boring...? I fixed that- We watched the Ten Commandments instead!! Oh well on to the next project.

7UP Biscuits

I love when things look easy and turn out easy :) These looked so good and looked easy enough - 4 ingredients! I found them over at Steph's The Plain Chicken - go check her out . They were perfect. 2 c Bisquick mix 1/2 c sour cream 1/2 c 7up 1/4 c melted butter Preheat oven to 450º Cut sour cream into your Bisquick mix, then add 7up - it will make a soft dough. Now sprinkle your counter with a little Bisquick mix then add dough and pat it out. Melt butter and pour it into a 9" square baking pan. Cut your biscuits up and arrange them in pan on top of melted butter. Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Linking up with: and Foodie Friday

Texas Peanut Patties

Everyone has memory candies, these are mine. Growing up in Texas, these patties were sold at the corner store for about 25 cents I think and I've always loved them but every year they get harder to find. Occasionally I will find them traveling around Texas...in little ice houses or Mom & Pop stores and even a gas station here and there. We always get them in San Antonio at The Mi Tierra Bakery every time we are up there and until now that was the only for-sure place that has always had them. I finally found a recipe that is so true to the original patty that I have to share. If you've ever had one you have to try to make these at home. You'll thank me later :) 2 1/2 c sugar 2/3 c light Karo syrup 1 c milk 2 1/2 c raw peanuts 4 tbsp butter 1 tbsp powdered sugar 4-5 drops of red food coloring Place sugar, syrup, milk and peanuts in a heavy pot, stir them to mix everything together. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to a low boil, continue cooking, uncovered fo

Sopapilla Cheesecake Dessert

I know you've seen this all over and it is called all kinds of names but I'll call it good. It looked so perfect for a Sunday morning that I had to try them...on a Friday night :) Whenever you make them, you will love them. 2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls 2 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/4 c butter, melted cinnamon 1c sugar Unroll and spread 1 of the cans of crescent rolls on the bottom of the baking dish. Combine softened cream cheese, 1 c sugar, and vanilla. Spread over crescent roll layer. Unroll and layer remaining crescent rolls over cream cheese layer. Melt your butter and spread over top of crescent rolls. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar. Bake @350º for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly and slightly browned. Drizzle with a little honey if you like. Let cool a bit, slice and eat. I halved this recipe (to fit a 8x8" pan) and it worked perfectly. Linking up with:
