Cranberry Chutney

This is going to be a strange one for me since I do not even like cranberries - they are so tart! What..you don't even like them you say? Well..they look sooo pretty in the little jars all dressed up to give away.. that.. well..I had to make some to give away! I know they will be delicious for those who love cranberries! I have a list of a few lucky people that will receive these pretty jars full of sweet tart cheer!

I did try it by the way, not on turkey but over softened cream cheese with crackers. It was lovely!!

1 3/4 lbs tart apples chopped
2 1/4 lbs fresh cranberries
2 c light brown sugar
1 1/4 c cider vinegar
1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
3/4 tsp ground cloves
3/4 tsp pepper flakes
1/2 lb dark raisins

Place all ingredients in pot and cook 25-30 minutes. Ladle hot chutney into hot jars leaving 1/4" headspace. Wipe rim, and add lid until fit is fingertip tight. Process in a boiling water canner for 10 minutes. Remove jar and cool and let sit for 24 hours. Check lids - lid should not flex up and down when center is pressed. If it does flex, eat soon :)

Enjoy
