Spicy Pear Loaves

Using the last of my pears I decided on a pear loaf.... cake.... whatever it is. I made these mini pear loaves but, they really had a nice cake-like texture. They were super moist without being dense and the glaze - was "eat it by the spoonful" good. Seriously. This recipe made four mini loaves - one for me and three to give away...or three for me and one to give away :)
3 ripe pears, peeled and cut into chunks
1 large ripe banana, mashed up
1/2 c sugar
1 stick unsalted butter
1/2 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cardamom
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c flour
Preheat oven to 325º, spray 4 mini loaf pans with cooking spray and set aside. In a bowl of electric mixer combine butter and sugars, mix on high until light and fluffy. Add in eggs, one at a time, incorporating after each addition. Add in vanilla and beat on medium high for 4 minutes. Mix in sour cream.
In small bowl combine spices, baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour. With mixer on low, add dry ingredients to your sugar butter mixture. Mix until just incorporated. Stir in pears and mashed bananas. Pour into pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
Cream Cheese Glaze
3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp unsalted butter, at room temp
1 1/3 c confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3-4 tbsp heavy cream
Mix all ingredients together, adding more or less cream to reach desired consistency. Slather on your loaves and be happy.
   Go join the party!!

These loaves really do sound spicy, just how I like them. I'll have to remember this recipe when pears come back on sale.
