Cinnamon Cho Chip Muffins

I received some really neat gourmet spices for Christmas and knew I had to use the Ceylon Cinnamon for these cinnamon muffins. Sorry but I had to add chocolate chips...and then sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar for a little crunch.....can you smell them? Warm straight out of the oven, they were that good.
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 large egg
3 tbsp veg oil
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c buttermilk
1 c chocolate chips
For tops:
sugar
cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400º. Line muffin cups with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
In a large bowl whisk together sugars and egg until smooth. Beat in vegetable oil and vanilla. Working in 2 or 3 additions, alternate adding flour and buttermilk to sugar mixture, stirring until just combined. Toss chips in flour and add to mix.
Fill each muffin cup and sprinkle with your cinnamon sugar mixture.
Bake at 400º for 17-20 minutes, until tester comes out clean. Transfer to wire rack and make yourself a cup of coffee.
Update: Big girl took these to bus stop and they received rave reviews, they said these were the best chocolate chips muffins ever! :)
