Nutella Crescents

I was out at our local Whole Foods when I came across some Chocolate Rugelach! Ummm, I have never had it made with chocolate....had to look that one up.
As usual I am gonna have to change that a little and find a quick tip or two for making this when you have no time and still want something pretty.
I used this recipe with a few switch-a-roos. Hope you like them.

Dough:
You can go super easy and use refrigerated crescent rolls or try this dough:
8oz unsalted butter, room temp
8 oz cream cheese, room temp
1/2 c sugar
3 egg yolks (save your whites to brush tops)
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of coarse salt
2 1/3 c flour plus more for rolling out dough

 Filling:
Nutella
chopped nuts
You will use egg whites to brush tops with.

In a bowl of your mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed. Add yolks, one at a time, beating to combine. Reduce speed to low and add flour. Remove from bowl and divide into 3 pieces on a lighly floured surface. Pat each into disks and wrap in plastic . Refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350º, line sheets with parchment paper. On lightly floured surface, roll out one of your disks into a 12" round, not more than 1/8" thick. Spread Nutella all over round, sprinkle with chopped nuts and gently press them down. With a pizza cutter, cut into 16 slices (just like a pizza). Beginning at thick end of slice, roll them up pinching ends. They should be shaped like little crescent rolls. Place on sheet and brush them with beaten egg whites. Sprinkle with a little superfine sugar and bake for about 25 minutes until golden.
I also made some with just cinnamon sugar sprinkled inside with pecans, rolled them up and sprinkle them again with cinnamon sugar (for the little one who HATES Nutella ?)

YUM! I think I have all the ingredients for these now. They would be great with coffee.
Those look so wonderful. I love Nutella. I cannot keep a jar of it because I will just eat it right out of the jar with a spoon.
You are awesome! Seriously. :)

Happy Sunday!

I guess that I'm the only one in the world that hasn't had Nutella.

Maybe I'll have to break down and buy some, huh?
