Crunchy Amaretto Bars

Woke up yesterday morning and just had to add some amaretto to my coffee. What? It's the last day of school...the begining of summer.... kids home all day.... getting myself relaxed before it happens ya know :) It just reminded me of how much I love amaretto - it started me thinking....what can I add amaretto to? Something easy...can't get any easier than than these. They were delicious.
 1/2 c slivered almonds, chopped
8oz baking chocolate
1/3 c butter
1 1/4 c flour
1 c sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp amaretto
2 eggs
Frosting:
2 c powdered sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp butter, softened
1 tbsp amaretto
1 2 tbsp milk
Heat oven to 350º. Grease the bottom only of a 13x9" pan with cooking spray.
Using a knife I just chopped up 1/2 c of almonds and set them aside.
In a 3 qt saucepan, melt chocolate and 1/3 c butter over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth, remove from heat. Stir in chopped almonds, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, 2 tbsp amaretto and eggs. Blend until incorporated. Spread evenly in pan.
Bake 22-27 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.
In medium bowl, mix frosting ingredients until smooth and spreadable. Spread over brownies and sprinkle with almonds. Cut into bars.
