Summer Bries (kinda)

We were in New York City before Christmas and had to stop in at Serendipity3. I saw this sandwich on their menu and couldn't wait to try it at home. Whoa!
Summer Bries: Smoked turkey, sliced apples, melted Brie, and alfalfa sprouts, served on Raisin Pumpernickel bread with Russian dressing only $14.50. Indeed! It was worth every penny!

Of course I could not leave well enough alone. I substituted the apples for sliced Red Bartlett pears, changed out Brie for Gruyere cheese and used regular Pumpernickle bread. I mixed some bottled Russian Dressing with a little mayo and it was good to eat! Pretty simple but bursting with so many flavors and textures, try it..you'll like... I promise.
