Valentine's Day Hearts

I was inspired by Meg over at For Goodness Cakes for another Valentine idea. She is really creative and I love how brave she is in her kitchen. Go check out her take on Valentine's Day bark.
I decided to try a cake batter bark. Yeah I know....who knew?  I made some hearts like Megan did but just added the cake mix and here we are.
6 oz dark chocolate
12 oz white chocolate
3 tbsp cake mix (I used Funfetti)
Sprinkles of your choice
Melt dark chocolate in microwave or double boiler. Line your baking sheet with wax paper and "draw" on your hearts. Throw them into the refrigerator until they set up. Now melt your white chocolate and mix in cake mix, stirring slowly until you have no lumps. Let it sit a minute or too, it will thicken up. Now layer white chocolate onto your dark chocolate heart. Sprinkle with sprinkles. Refrigerate until everything is set.

You can also do these the regular way - line baking pan with wax paper, pour on dark chocolate and let it set. Pour white chocolate over that layer, then add sprinkles. Refrigerate until set and then break into pieces.

These are just darling. I love how you've decorated them. I never knew cake mix could be used in bark but I'm sure it makes it even better. I'm going to be starting a new linky on my blog this Saturday called "Sweets for a Saturday" and I do hope you'll come by then and link these up.

These are so cute and look so good. I'd think the cake mix would give them just a little extra depth. Am I right?
