Snickerdoodle cake

Saw this cake over at Recipe Shoebox and it looked so sweet that I couldn't even turn them into cupcakes. It had to be a cake! It was delicious, including the frosting. It tasted exactly like something Granny would of made....super nice.
 Cake:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 c milk
1/4 c melted butter
1/2 c applesauce
3 lg eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350º, mix ingredients and pour into greased cake pans. Bake about 25 minutes or until they start to turn golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Set aside to cool.
Now you can make your frosting.
Frosting:
1/2 c butter
4 oz cream cheese
3 1/4 c powdered sugar
3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix butter, cream cheese, vanilla, cinnamon and milk until creamy. Slowly add your powdered sugar until you have a nice smooth frosting. Next time I will double the frosting...it was that good.
Turn out your cake layers and frost each one. Sprinkle the whole thing with cinnamon sugar. Refrigerate for about 1 hour. Enjoy :)
