Sopapilla Cheesecake Dessert

I know you've seen this all over and it is called all kinds of names but I'll call it good. It looked so perfect for a Sunday morning that I had to try them...on a Friday night :) Whenever you make them, you will love them.
2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls
2 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 c butter, melted
cinnamon
1c sugar
Unroll and spread 1 of the cans of crescent rolls on the bottom of the baking dish. Combine softened cream cheese, 1 c sugar, and vanilla. Spread over crescent roll layer. Unroll and layer remaining crescent rolls over cream cheese layer. Melt your butter and spread over top of crescent rolls. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar. Bake @350º for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly and slightly browned. Drizzle with a little honey if you like. Let cool a bit, slice and eat.
I halved this recipe (to fit a 8x8" pan) and it worked perfectly.

This looks gorgeous - I love any dessert that has cream cheese in it!
Hi Mickey,
That sounds and looks great!
I will be happy if they every stop making all those things like crescent rolls without hydrogenated oils, cause due to hubbies heart issues they are a No No for us, but sure looks awesome.
Hope you are doing well!!
Blessings, Nellie

I'm wondering if I can cream the butter and sugar together the night before so I can just throw it together on Easter morning? Has anyone tried that?
Thanks!

The sugar should be added to the list of ingredince, because if you miss the fact it's listed down the page you miss the main part of the filling.

These are very good! I do prefer mine with a drizzle of honey, or even a little maple syrup. Gonna try them with a little blueberry syrup with maybe even some fresh blueberries inside.

Only 1 (8oz) pkg. of cream cheese is needed. 2 is way too much and makes it soupy.
Delicious, my son said that is reminded him of fried cheesecake.

Can this be made the day before, but served on the next day & still hold up & not end up being soggy when served?

I have made this for so many different parties and it is always gone. I have had to make more than one at at a time. It is delicious.
